compliments
Every time I’m complimented on something, I immediately begin to fail at said something. It could be, “Your handwriting is exceptionally neat today.” Within seconds, my handwriting becomes completely illegible. It usually results in me falling flat on my face, both literally and figuratively.

i can’t believe no one’s commented on this. i always assumed that this was common. like, if i’m playing a video game and someone says “wow, you’re good,” i’ll instantly start playing like a noob. or if i’m shooting at a target on a gun range and someone says, “nice shot!” i’ll consistently start missing. i know it happens, so i try to calm myself out of it, but that never seems to work.
Me too. I think it’s more common than we think, I use this technique while playing pool. When they’re doing well I just say, “wow, niiiice shot!” or “he’s on a roll now” their next shot they miss 9 out of 10 times.
wow!! thats so true for me too…the other day i had parked my car brilliantly in a very small parking space…when my friend saw that, she was amazed, and i was on cloud 9. While removing the car from a pretty huge space actually, i went and dented the front part. That was very embarrassing and felt extremely stupid
My friend reminds me of that incident till date
