We have two lights for which there are two switches. One of them is okay, when both switches are down the lights are off. If my boyfriend switches it off by putting the switches up I have to fix it. But in editing, some of the meaning was lost, because if both switches were up the lights would be off. Sooo it is perfectly acceptable for one to be up and one to be down, doesn't matter which is which, but to turn them off, both HAVE to be down. We had come from a smaller house and it was only one switch per room, basically. I found myself running across rooms to check if the other switch was down as well.
