Whenever I’m alone and get intimidated by people I take out my phone and pretend to be on the phone with someone. Which means I talk to myself. I can’t stop doing it, and nobody knows about it.

I call my home phone and randomly talk to my voice mail so that my phone doesn’t ring and people find out I’m talking to the air.
I always call my mom when i’m alone in a bad part of town, or walking back from somewhere in a dark alley… heck even a grocery store in a shadey neighborhood. If she’s not there i leave her a nice long message and then either call other people or hang up and continue to talk to the phone. Sometimes I take that time to call my friends in the military… even though they’re thousands of miles away, it feels assuring to know that they would at least Know if something happened to me.
which could get you a fine and a licence endorsement (or even jail time!) in the UK if you were caught… all for trying not to look mad!
i’ve done this before, except with pretending to text.
i have done this for years. i put it on silent though, so that i don’t look crazy if it rings :X
i feel crazy, but i’m glad i’m not alone! haha.
i also do this sometimes to like…sort of work problems out that i can’t really talk to anyone about.

Well they will know when your phone rings & you are in fact on it! Maybe if you are in fact that crazy then you ought to put it on silent in order not to add public embarrassment to your list of neurosis!

yeah, when i am walking home and listening to my ipod i mouth along, but if anyone walks or drives past, i hold my phone up to my ear so it looks like i’m talking into it instead of mouthing to myself.
That’s ok. I like to sing in the car, but whenever I come to a stoplight or cars are around me in traffic, I hold my phone up to my ear so it looks like I am talking to someone else, too!

I’m afraid of that happening to me, so I fake text, instead of talking. I just write out a text but for some reason don’t send it to anybody, even if I have someone in mind whilst writing the text.
Haha Yeaah I do this with texting. Or if I’m walking down a creepy street and I’m scared I’ll put my phone on silent so it doesn’t ring and start talking. Its fun!! =]
