i am neurotic.

Every piece of furniture I have is not up against a wall. It must be at least 2 – 2 1/2 inches away from the wall. I do this because I’m afraid bugs and rodents will hide back there and come out at night to crawl on my face while I sleep. It doesn’t stop in my house either. I helped my boyfriend move and when furniture was placed too close to the wall by the movers, I’d wait until they were done, then moved the furniture myself. I didn’t want to be one of those picky, lazy people who demand the movers to be as neurotic as I.

I always have to start shaving with my right leg. I also have to put my socks on right foot first, and then shoes on right foot first. but I can’t do right foot sock then shoe, left foot sock then shoe, because then my feet are uneven. I also start walking with my right foot.

I used to masterbate with my right hand but then i tried my left hand for kicks (had to get used to it). Now I can’t masterbate with my right hand anymore.

I roll the fringe on the edge of blankets or towels or tassels on asian tchotkes in between my knuckles. I do this because my security blanket when I was little had a fringe. only certain types of fringe work, if it is too soft it won’t work, it has to make a sort of sharp sensation, soft won’t work. I do this so much I develop big, ugly calluses on my knuckles. I call it ‘frizzling,” thought of that when I was little. I enjoy it but hate the calluses, so I’m conflicted about it. I love to relax and frizzle, but feel guilty ’cause then my hands are ugly. sometimes people think the calluses are warts.

At my school, after every test we have a pledge stating that “On my honor I have neither given no received any help on this test,” after writing it you’re supposed to sign your name. Every time I write it out I can’t help but say “amen.”

Whenever my face itches, I have to use a piece of my shirt to cover my fingers to scratch it. I can’t scratch my face like a normal person… but I don’t think anyone really notices…

When I’m doing my make up, I have to do the exact same thing to both eyes. Even if I do a massive accidental smudge which I then wipe off, I have to do it on the other eye and wipe it off that eye too. Every time I leave the house I have to follow this same ritual. 1. Lock the front door 2. Walk to the end of the walk 3. Run back and check that the door is locked I repeat this 2 to 5 times and am never convinced that the door is secure, always leaving with an uneasy feeling, even though I KNOW it’s locked.

I wear mismatched socks all the time but shades of red socks must ALWAYS go on my right foot and blue shades on my left. Always, always, always. This is do to the fact that I associate red with blood and, with my right foot being my dominate foot, that’s the foot I would kick people with. My left foot is my pacifist foot and blue means peace to me.
