volcanic potatoes
Whenever I’m served mashed potatoes and gravy, I have to first shape my dollop of potatoes into a cone, make a hollow in the center, then fill the crater to the top with gravy. As soon as I’ve gotten everything else on my plate, I have to let some of the gravy escape it’s pit and slide down the side, like a volcano. I always feel immensely immature, but I can’t eat in any other way.

I always imagine mine are a swimming pool, with the mashed potatoes forming the walls and the gravy forming the water. I first coat the pool with a sprinkling of chlorine (salt), pour in the water, then sprinkle more chlorine on top. Then each bite has to be some mashed potato and some gravy; if I run out of gravy I make a smaller pool and start over.
