I have that too, but with everything I write. Mostly with my stories, but also if it is just a note to my boyfriend to say where I am if he comes home and I am not there, or a shopping list or something else equally trivial.
Nanowrimo was very hard for me for this reason.

Me and one of my little brothers both do this, too. Maybe it has something to do with the way our brains are wired for language?

I too do this, but it is the result of a head injury during a bus -> my truck accident. It has slowed down my public speaking, and made me write out what I plan to say more. The more off the cuff, the more I have to watch the audience to ensure I have said Amish when I meant Amish instead of Irish when I meant Amish. (that one went 30 min before the wife corrected me).
I think more people should double think their words, just dont lose your courage in the process!
