After I learned that REM (rapid-eye movement) sleep is the type of sleep that makes you truly rested and that the first cycle of it happens within an hour and a half of continuous sleep, my naps now have to be a minimum of ninety minutes. If I get woken up in the middle of the nap, and thus am not able to get my daily amount of nap REM sleep, I get extremely upset that I wasted my time and end up feeling especially tired the rest of the day.










Whoever told you that is mistaken. Stage 4 sleep (also known as delta wave sleep or “deep sleep”) is the most restful sleep. If you think about it, REM sleep couldn’t be the most restful sleep anyway because that is the stage in which dreams normally occur. And anyone who has suffered from certain types of insomnia or from depression and dreamt a lot during the night can tell you that that type of sleep is not really restful at all.
Do a GIS for “infographic nap.” Your naps don’t have to be 90 minutes in order to be beneficial.
