get off glitter
I absolutely CANNOT stand glitter. It is the herpes of Arts and Crafts. I hate the way that it gets everywhere and sticks to everything. If I ever get even a speck of glitter on me, I feel the absolute need to take a shower and wash all my clothes. Last year, my friend inadvertently got me a birthday card that had glitter on it. I freaked out. We are no longer friends.

Ugh, I am so sick of hearing people say, “Glitter is the herpes of Arts and Crafts.” It was funny the first time but now it’s just cliche to the point of annoying.
it was a demetri martin joke. ganking jokes=not funny.
Although I can’t stand glitter either (It is the most annoying and pointless craft product ever invented), please don’t steal jukes from Demetri Martin. He is extremely funny and talented. Don’t use your neurosis to be funny AND use someone elses joke to do it. THOU SHALL NOT STEAL.
I loathe glitter. I will see the most beautiful card, with a beautiful verse, but won’t buy (or touch) it if it’s decorated in glitter. Opening holiday cards. Argh!!!! I once had a friend’s small child dip their hand in a pot of glitter in a store and smack it directly onto the front of my shirt. I didn’t feel “non-sparkly” for days
I hope that last statement about your friend was just an extra tidbit rather than what I believe it is. Glitter is definitely worth losing a friendship over, eh?
Good lord, you’re not longer friends with someone just because they got you a glittery birthday card? I think your problems go beyond just a glitter aversion my dear.
I feel the same way. I work at a preschool 3 days of the week, and the teacher I work with knows not to do glittery art projects when I’m there. A coworker didn’t realize how much I hated glitter and once sprinkled it over my head. She apologized profusely and has been extra nice to me ever since she saw me freak out that day.
