i am neurotic.

i have to sleep with my TV on and when i start getting sleepy, i turn the volume down to 3 or 4 and put the timer on for 2 hours, just so i know it will still be on as i’m falling asleep. it’s not the noise, its the light.

I buy a lot of movies. I have Goo Gone on top of my movie shelves to get off all sticker remnants before putting them in my collection. I also have extra cases, in case one is broken, I can switch it out.

When I baby sit my niece I watch TV with the volume at 5 and captions on so not to wake her. I’ve been told this is ridiculous.

I have 4 remotes. Regardless of whether or not I need all of them for the device the picture and sound come from that I am using, I MUST have them in a specific order from on the couch next to me. They go (from left to right) TV remote, Cable Remote, Stereo Remote, and Roku Box remote. I get mad when people mess it up or sit next to me and move them wrong.

I HAVE to watch the previews before a movie at theatres. If I miss the previews for whatever reason (bathroom, getting snacks, coming late, etc.), I can’t focus on the movie; I feel antsy the whole time and I’m just plain unhappy the rest of the day.

when changing the channels on my T.V. i have to touch every other button so they do not feel left out. or if my hand relaxes and i accidently touch a few i have to make the amount of times ive touched all buttons equal.

Whenever I let someone borrow a movie, I remember with great accuracy who has it. But somehow I can never ask for it back; I have some dvds that have been gone upwards of 3 years.

I can’t stand not being able to finish a show on tv. Even though I have a DVR, I can’t make myself record a show and come back to finish it later because then I’m left wondering “well, what’s going the happen” all day long. I have to finish it when I start it. I have been late for class/work for this in the past. I just try not to watch tv whenever I have somewhere to be now.

Whenever i borrow videos from my library, neglect to watch them, and return them, i hate to take them out again after that, even if it’s a film i really wanted to see, simply because i don’t want the librarian who checks the movie out to ask me something like “you must really like this movie huh?”. the reason being i can’t lie to them and say “i sure do!” nor do i want explain that i took the movie out and just didn’t watch it last time.

When I need to spell the word beautiful, I HAVE to say it the way Truman does on The Truman Show, just so I can remember how it starts. B-E-A-UUUUUTIFUL.
