i am neurotic.

If can’t seem to put my mind on rest if the label I’ve written on a CD/DVD if not perfectly symmetrical. If the words gets distorted while writing then I feel like destroying the DVD altogether. This way sometimes I have to use 3 or 4 DVD’s to write the same data.

When watching either a DVD or VHS, if I’m forwarding or rewinding, I just can’t press “play”; I absolutely have to press “stop” first, then “play”. I’m convinced that the device will break if I do it any other way.

When I put in a DVD and it gets to the main menu, I cannot click play. I have to click on scene selections, then I click on chapter 2. Then press the back button to go to the beginning of the movie.

When a teacher plays a video up on a projector, there is nothing I despise more than when they leave the cursor in plain sight. It does not take a lot of effort to move it off to the side of the screen. It just baffles me as to why they think this is an acceptable and humane practice.

Sometimes when I watch a movie or TV show, I will start imaging what the script says (e.g. “A man sleeping on the couch is visible in the reflection of an old TV. Slow-dripping water and the buzz of an alarm clock in another room can be heard”). Also I become fixated on the extras and how hard they are trying to act and what directions they were given. Sometimes I get so distracted by this that I don\’t even pay attention to the plot.

Anytime I watch a horror movie, I have to watch something cute and fun after. Like a puppy doing something adorable or a cartoon I can laugh at. If not I’m afraid the images will never leave my mind.

If my roommate comes in and I’m playing a video game, I turn down the volume drastically and close the door to the computer room. Not that he’s ever indicated that he’s bothered by it; I just get extremely embarrassed if I think he’s hearing mutants yelling or elves commanding me to remember the Sunwell.

i have all of the movies i want to see listed in a little notebook. and i have to watch the movies in the order i have them in the book. thank god for netflix where i can order them in the order of my list.

I have to watch Youtube videos until the exact end if I like them, because I feel otherwise my viewing doesn’t get counted. I also have to finish TV shows until the credits are done rolling, because I want them to get correct ratings. I know that isn’t how it works though…

If I ever turn on a murder show even a minute too late (like CSI), I can’t finish it because I feel like I missed the best part and I will be confused they whole time, then I get really dissapointed and check for the next time it comes on. I then have to turn on the channel a good 2 minutes before it come on (at least) to make sure I don’t miss it again.
