I have a list of 150+ words and brand names that I really don’t like. I’m still finding new ones every so often. The words “moist” and “supple” are well at the top of the list. Some words sound horrible whether used as nouns or verbs (example: “tender”). I basically refuse to say these (and many other) words or use them in any sort of communication if at all possible.

I count letters everywhere: a=1, b=2, c=3, etc, up until the letter f. I stop at f because that’s the highest that I can count quickly. I’ve been doing this as long as I can remember. I wish I could stop. I miss out on conversations sometimes because I’m too busy counting letters.

When writing notes, as in class or studying for example, if I am coming to the end of a point and realize that I will have to start a new line for only one word, I will either spread out my words, or leave a space at the end of the line, so that there will be at least 2 words on the next line. I can’t start a new line for only one word, it looks lonely.

I have a habit of reading people’s shirts. I don’t care what it says as long as it has some sort of wording. This becomes a problem with my female friends. My female friends assume I’m looking at their boobs when I’m just reading their shirt. Btw… I’m a guy.

Whenever I say something I have to repeat the sentence back to myself in my head. I analyze the sentence and determine whether it came out the way I wanted it to come out. When this first started I would also mouth the words and sometimes say the whole sentence out-loud a second time.

When I am in an uncomfortable situation I start to write random words and sentences with my finger where ever I can, like my leg or on walls, or I’ll imagine them writing themselves out in my mind.

Every time I send an email that contains an attachment at work, I open the document one more time just to make sure that I didn’t type any curse words by accident. Sometimes I open it more times after that just to make sure!

When I was in grade school, I learned how to write haikus and, by extension, to count syllables in words and sentences. For years, I would tap out words and sentences with my fingers on one hand. I would always start with my pinky and go to my thumb. I would almost always tap out the word or sentence five times just to end the tapping on my thumb. I still tap my fingers to song lyrics or beats and I still like to end on my thumb.
